REAL RESULTS
See the change for yourself
Real Dogs. Real Homes. Real Behavioural Change.
Dog behaviour problems can make everyday life at home feel stressful — but with the right approach, behaviour can change.
This is a real example from one of the dogs I've worked with. The before and after videos show the difference that calm, consistent and effective behaviour training can make.

Before Training
Unsettled, alert and struggling to switch off and relax at home.

After Training
Calmer, more relaxed and able to settle comfortably in the same home environment.
Every dog is different.
I work with you and your dog in your own home to understand what's causing the behaviour and put practical changes in place that work in everyday life.
Struggling With Your Dog's Behaviour?
Start with a home assessment.
How working with us usually goes
Call us first
Tell us what is happening with your dog and what feels hardest right now. We listen properly and help you decide the ideal next step.
We meet you at home
We assess your dog's behaviour in the place where daily problems happen. You get clear guidance based on what we see, not guesswork.
Put plan into practice
You follow practical steps with our support, and we keep the approach straightforward. Your dog gets consistent, and you gain more confidence.
What we offer

Real help for dogs and the people who love them
Living with a dog that feels anxious, reactive or hard to manage can wear you down faster than you'd think. Our team at The Dog Heeler has spent 30 years helping owners turn that stress into steady progress, with a clear aim to bring about long-term positive change for dogs and owners alike. Learn more about us, explore our personalised dog training approach, and read our reviews and case studies to see how we've helped other owners achieve lasting results.
We work calmly, we come to your home, and we focus on what is really happening in your dog's everyday world. That means you get realistic guidance you can actually use, not a one-size-fits-all routine that falls apart by teatime.

It is my vision to work with dogs and owners to bring about long-term positive change.

Our reviews
Joe came out to help us with our border collie, who was reactive and nervous and would bark when she saw people; she was also lead-heavy. He taught us how to react and deal with it and helped to improve her confidence and our confidence. She no longer pulls on the lead or reacts to people. I couldn’t recommend Joe enough; he does excellent work in teaching both dog and owner.
Bark
We had the pleasure of Joe coming to our home last week; within minutes he had our 5-year-old cockapoo in his bed, the quietest we’ve heard him. Our anxious dog had problems barking, reactivity and pulling on the lead. Joe was able to show us how to get our dog calm so that our walks are more enjoyable for us all
What sets us apart
Regression therapy, calmly
Addressing behaviour at its source through calm, practical, personalised guidance.
No treats or rewards used
Training builds lasting behaviour without relying on food rewards, treats or bribery.
Puppy training from 10 weeks
Early guidance helps puppies develop confident, well-mannered lifelong behaviours.
Support that makes sense in real life
Your dog doesn't misbehave just to make your day harder, but it can certainly feel that way when barking, pulling or nervous behaviour takes over. We take the time to understand the cause, then help you respond in a way that feels calm, safe and consistent in your own home. Our team at The Dog Heeler works one-to-one only, so your dog gets focused support without the distraction of group sessions. We can also help from as young as 10 weeks old, giving you a better start before small issues grow into stubborn habits.
